About The Position

The Food & Nutrition Specialist provides assistance with dietary functions as directed and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures. The role supports the preparation and timely delivery of meals and helps ensure meals are palatable, appetizing, and served at the proper temperature.

The position requires commitment to the organization’s mission, values, ethical standards, and person-centered care. The specialist works cooperatively with coworkers and treats residents with kindness, dignity, and respect while protecting their rights and property.

Requirements

• Completion of Food Handling training and certification.
• Commitment to consistently delivering high-quality, person-centered care with dignity, respect, compassion, and integrity.

• Ability to represent the company ethically and professionally and maintain accountability.

• Previous dietary experience in an acute or long-term care environment.

• Follow dietary procedures, established policies, production sheets, and recipes, including instructions for use of adaptive devices.
• Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Set up tray cards, food carts, dining rooms, and other items as instructed for meal service.
• Help ensure meals are prepared and delivered on time and at the proper temperature.
