About The Position

The Food & Beverage Manager / Sommelier is a working sommelier with front-of-house food and beverage experience at Little Palm Island’s fine-dining restaurant, The Dining Room. The role curates and manages the restaurant’s wine list, shares wine expertise with guests and service staff, and develops wine pairings in collaboration with the Executive Chef as menus change. It also includes conducting wine tastings and staff training to strengthen wine knowledge and service standards, keeping the wine program current, and finding ways to increase wine knowledge and sales. Little Palm Island is a private island resort near Key West, accessible only by boat or seaplane. The Dining Room seats 100 guests and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with additional wine and cocktail service in the lounge, in-room dining, and small private gatherings.

Requirements

Food and beverage front-of-house experience.
Knowledge of fine dining and passion for fine wines.
A highly professional and welcoming personality.
Knowledge of wine trends, regions, and vintages.
Ability to share wine knowledge and contribute to wine sales and service.

Responsibilities

Curate and manage the restaurant’s wine list, maintaining a diverse, high-quality selection.
Provide working front-of-house food and beverage service as a sommelier.
Share wine expertise with guests and service staff.
Develop wine pairings and partner with the Executive Chef on daily menu changes.
Conduct wine tastings and staff training to enhance wine knowledge and service standards.
Stay informed about wine trends, regions, and vintages to keep the wine program current and competitive.
Develop ways to increase wine knowledge and sales in The Dining Room.
Help elevate guests’ dining experiences through wine knowledge and service.
