About The Position

This is a full-time, 1st shift position requiring work 4 weekdays and every other weekend. The role involves completing assigned duties and tasks professionally, accurately, and in a timely manner. A thorough understanding of Room Service, dish room operations, food handling, cleaning, and sanitation processes is essential. Responsibilities include polite and professional soiled tray removal from patient rooms, trash removal, floor care, and maintaining bathroom sanitation and cleanliness. The position requires the ability to multi-task and work at a fast, consistent pace. The Food and Nutrition Tech will also be responsible for maintaining food service and DHEC logs and records, upholding all DHEC/DNV regulations regarding food safety, facility upkeep, cleaning, and sanitation. A high standard of cleanliness and sanitation in the work area, according to policies and procedures, must be maintained, along with proper personal and hand hygiene practices. Any identified problems must be relayed to a department leader promptly. Flexibility with schedule times is necessary, and other duties as assigned by a Supervisor, Coordinator, Specialist, or Management will be completed. These responsibilities contribute to meeting the nutrition needs of patients and all others served.

Requirements

  • Must have a thorough knowledge understanding of Room Service, dish room, food handling, cleaning and sanitation processes.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work at a fast consistent pace.
  • High School diploma/GED or one-year applicable food service/customer service experience.
  • Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions regarding logs, sanitation, patient care, and infection control policies.
  • Pushing weights up to 200# required.
  • Constant walking and standing are necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned duties/tasks professionally, accurately and as timely as possible.
  • Responsible for soiled tray removal from patient rooms in a polite, professional and friendly manner.
  • Responsible for trash removal, floor care, bathroom sanitation and cleanliness.
  • Records food service and DHEC logs and records.
  • Upholds all DHEC/DNV regulation in regard to food safety, facility upkeep, cleaning and sanitation.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation in work area according to policies/procedures.
  • Upholds proper personal and hand hygiene practices at all times.
  • Relays any identified problems to a department leader in a timely manner.
  • Completes any other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Coordinator, Specialist or Management.
  • Contribute to meeting the nutrition needs of the patients and all others served.
