About The Position

Responsible for food and beverage service for the Club. Directly supervises the lead servers, bartenders, DRAs, and front-line service staff. Responsible for hiring, continued staff development and training. Ensures exemplary private club service standards are maintained by providing exceptional service in a clean and professional environment.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a highly visible presence with members, guest, and staff on the floor
  • Greets guests and participate with service
  • Conducts effective orientation and training for new staff
  • Plans and implements professional development activities for staff
  • Sets, trains and maintains service standards for all front-line service staff
  • Ensures that established policies and procedures for club operations are maintained and adhered to by club staff
  • Monitors employee dress codes according to policies and procedures
  • Ensures that all legal requirements are consistently met. This includes, but is not limited to, federal, state, and/or local laws pertaining to alcoholic beverages and accurate wages and hours for all employees in their purview.
  • Schedule performance reviews for staff at 90 days and annually
  • Addresses member and guest complaints and advises the Clubhouse Manager about appropriate corrective actions taken
  • Implement and monitor sanitation and cleaning schedules
  • Maintains the cleanliness and organization of designated food service and storage areas
  • Conducts regular inspections to ensure standards are maintained
  • Inspects to ensure that all safety, sanitation, energy management, preventive maintenance and other standards are consistently met and reports any deficiencies to the Clubhouse Manager or Building Superintendent
  • Daily sales tickets and banquet billing is accurate and provided to the accounting office in a timely manner
  • Ensures budgeted expenses and costs are maintained or improved upon, and establishes controls to meet or exceed budget
  • Audits and approves weekly payroll and ensures it is within established budgets, submits payroll reports to Clubhouse Manager
  • Reports violations by members and guests of club policies and rules to the Clubhouse Manager
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Managing and maintain beverage and glass inventories.
