Food and Beverage Ambassador
About The Position
Food and Beverage Ambassadors help provide guests with a positive eating experience at Sesame Place in a variety of venues, including restaurants, carts and kiosks, specialty snack carts, coffee shops, and dessert stations. The role includes welcoming guests, explaining food and beverage options, making recommendations, accommodating dietary restrictions and allergies, preparing basic menu items, taking and fulfilling orders, maintaining clean guest and work areas, unloading deliveries, operating cash registers, following cash-handling procedures, and carrying vending trays. The position requires flexibility to work varied shifts and to work indoors and outdoors in a range of weather conditions.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Commitment to exceptional guest service.
- Ability to learn and use point-of-sale and cash register systems.
- Ability to work with all food types, including food allergens, in any dining facility.
- Ability to train on and properly use equipment and protective gear.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to walk and stand extensively.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Completion of all training, including ServSafe and RCS Responsible Vendor Training.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts.
Nice To Haves
- Previous point-of-sale experience preferred.
- Previous cash-handling experience preferred.
- Food service and/or theme park experience highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Enthusiastically greet and welcome guests.
- Provide guests with information about food and beverage products and make recommendations based on their needs.
- Support guests with dietary restrictions, allergies, and special needs.
- Perform general food preparation, including preparing produce, desserts, entrees, snacks, and other basic menu items.
- Take orders promptly and ensure they are delivered as ordered.
- Maintain a clean working environment.
- Perform housekeeping in guest dining areas, kitchens, and back areas, including wiping tables and chairs, sweeping, mopping, and washing dishes.
- Unload daily product from warehouse deliveries.
- Operate a cash register.
- Maintain monies and sales information for audit and balance.
- Follow proper cash-handling procedures.
- Prepare and carry vending trays.
