Food Access Leader - Chippewa Falls/Eau Claire
About The Position
The Food Access Leader supports the Food Access Director with oversight of Food Access Program sponsorship sites in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. The role primarily works at the Chippewa Falls YMCA and Eau Claire YMCA and is employed by the La Crosse Area Family YMCA as part of its Food Access Program. The position is part-time and may suit someone interested in food safety, nutrition education, and community food access programs. The position includes completing Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) training, monitoring sponsorship sites according to the required schedule, conducting follow-ups and ensuring corrective actions are completed, and maintaining records in accordance with DPI requirements. The employee participates in virtual one-on-one meetings with the Food Access Director following monitoring visits and quarterly in-person check-ins. Travel is coordinated in advance and may include travel between Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls, as well as to or from La Crosse for quarterly meetings when feasible.
Requirements
- Hold a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
- Pass a mandatory background check.
- Have excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Complete required Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) training, both virtually and in person.
- Monitor Food Access Program sponsorship sites accurately according to the DPI-required schedule.
- Complete monitoring follow-ups and ensure necessary corrective actions are addressed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and complete recordkeeping in accordance with DPI requirements.
- Participate in virtual one-on-one meetings with the La Crosse Area Family YMCA Food Access Director following each monitoring visit.
- Participate in quarterly in-person check-ins with the Food Access Director.
- Travel to and/or from La Crosse, Wisconsin, for quarterly meetings when feasible and necessary.
- Travel between Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls as needed based on the monitoring schedule and program needs.
