The Fluid Systems Design Engineer uses engineering principles to design systems that enable operation of Aeroderivative gas turbines. Systems include hydraulic start, ventilation and combustion air, turbine lube oil, gas fuel, liquid fuel, and generator lube oil. The role selects and sizes pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and ventilation systems; determines piping system requirements; and specifies control limits to support proper and reliable system operation. The engineer leads fluid-system design reviews, coordinates milestones and action items, develops component specifications, and coordinates interface requirements with mechanical design, electrical design, and controls teams. The role also supports Product Cost Out (PCO) and Reliability, Accessibility and Maintainability (RAM) programs and provides fluid-system expertise to internal and external customers across Aero Services, Manufacturing, CM&U, Applications/Sales, and Project Management. The role covers product and systems integration, requirements management and flow-down, validation and verification—including system-level testing—and definition of requirements for modules, components, subcontractors, and partners. It manages component interfaces and product configuration, drives critical-to-quality and risk trade-offs, and works with others to resolve issues. The position applies general business and professional knowledge, consults more senior team members on issues outside defined parameters, and may serve as a customer interface in customer-facing work.
