About The Position
This is a new position for the Fall 2026 academic period, specifically for FLS 2581 Q00, associated with PSY 1502. The course is French as a Second Language (FLS) and is linked to a 3-credit course in a given discipline (PSY 1502), taken in French by non-francophone students. The objective is to develop second language comprehension skills (listening and reading) and to help students assimilate the course material. Exam answers can be submitted in English or French for the discipline course, but only in French for the language course. In addition to teaching the language course, the FLS professor must also attend the discipline course: PSY 1502 C00. The course will be taught in person. Students may be enrolled in sections B00 or C00 of PSY 1502.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Didactics of French as a Second Language or a relevant field for teaching French as a Second Language.
- Two years of experience teaching FLS at the university level, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with software and technology relevant to teaching French as a Second Language courses.
- Knowledge of immersion pedagogy demonstrated by the CV.
- Any professor who taught an FLS/ESL course at OLBI before January 1, 2018, is considered to meet the degree requirement.
Responsibilities
- Teach the FLS 2581 Q00 course.
- Develop students' second language comprehension skills (listening and reading).
- Help students assimilate the material from the associated discipline course (PSY 1502).
- Attend the discipline course: PSY 1502 C00.
