About The Position

Assist with designing and merchandising floral items and arrangements for display and sale or in response to customer requests. Provide customer service and demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The role includes maintaining plants, preparing floral arrangements, filling balloons, supporting department merchandising, and keeping merchandise, tools, supplies, and work areas organized and safe. The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills.
Be able to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
Be able to multitask, set priorities, present information professionally, and work with all levels of the organization.
Demonstrate personal initiative and follow through to completion.
Be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Possess abilities and skills for effective production, merchandising, and customer service related to merchandise sales.
Be able to work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and carefully operate production equipment.

Responsibilities

Greet customers promptly and provide excellent service.
Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
Help design and create floral arrangements and other items to fulfill customer orders.
Package orders effectively, safely, and efficiently.
Keep merchandise and supplies in their proper areas.
Maintain customer records and files properly.
Help customers locate and select items.
Handle telephone calls and orders promptly and courteously.
Assist with decorating and merchandising the department.
Keep carts, tools, and supplies organized in their designated areas.
Keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
Maintain plants, process and prepare flower arrangements, and fill balloons.
Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation for merchandise.
Adhere to company policies and procedures and applicable state and federal laws.
Operate the cash register in accordance with company procedures, as applicable.
Maintain flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
