About The Position

HES is hiring a Floor Technician to clean and maintain floor surfaces in an educational facilities setting. Duties include carpet cleaning by bonnet and extraction methods; scrubbing, stripping, sealing, waxing, and spray buffing hard-surface floors; and operating and maintaining floor-cleaning and finishing equipment. The role requires following established safety precautions when cleaning and maintaining facility areas. This is a full-time, third-shift position. Travel is not required.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
• Excellent work history.
• Team-focused approach and ability to work with others and take direction.
• Ability to work efficiently with attention to detail in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
• Reliable transportation.
• High school diploma or equivalent is listed under education requirements.

Nice To Haves

• High school degree preferred, but not required.
• Previous floor technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean carpets using bonnet and extraction methods.
• Scrub, strip, seal, wax, and spray buff hard-surface floors.
• Operate high- and low-speed buffers up to 24 inches and 3,000 RPM propane burnishing equipment.
• Operate and maintain floor-cleaning and finishing equipment, including floor buffers and burnishers, water extraction machines, and carpet-cleaning equipment.
• Follow established safety precautions when cleaning and maintaining facility areas.
