About The Position

HES is hiring a General Cleaner to perform custodial duties in an educational facilities environment. Work includes cleaning and sanitizing a range of interior spaces and surfaces, maintaining entryway areas, and removing snow and ice. The role is physically demanding and fast-paced, and requires working efficiently with attention to detail, following direction, and meeting the company’s production and service time frames. Minimal travel is required. No supervisory responsibilities are assigned. The position is offered as full-time or part-time and may be on first or third shift.

Requirements

• Excellent work history.
• Ability to work as part of a team, work with others, and take direction.
• Ability to work efficiently with attention to detail in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
• Reliable transportation.
• Background check required.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, and pull.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks within established production and service time frames.
• Ability to work in temperatures ranging from hot to cold.

Nice To Haves

• High school degree preferred, but not required.
• Previous cleaning experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dust, dust mop, damp mop, and vacuum.
• Remove trash and recycling.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and locker rooms.
• Polish outdoor areas within 10 feet of entryways.
• Wash windows and clean entry glass and interior glass.
• Remove snow and ice.
• Clean desks, walls, furniture, doors, countertops, chalkboards, whiteboards, blinds, and light fixtures.
• Perform other duties as directed by the custodial supervisor or designated representative.
