About The Position

The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining and restoring floors and operating industrial floor care equipment at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. The role performs care for hard-surface floors, carpets, and upholstery using appropriate procedures and equipment. Prior floor care experience is required. This is a full-time position with a fixed pay rate of $12.00 per hour. The schedule includes rotating weekends; specific days and hours are provided during the interview.

Requirements

• Prior floor care experience is required.
• Knowledge of floor care equipment and techniques is required.
• Knowledge of and ability to follow safety procedures.
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a floor care technician or in a related role is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of hard-surface floor maintenance principles and follow proper procedures for stripping and refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and spray buffing.
• Operate various types of industrial floor care equipment.
• Use automated equipment to clean large floor areas.
• Follow appropriate carpet and upholstery care procedures, including shampooing, damp-surface cleaning, extraction, spot cleaning, and vacuuming.
• Perform maintenance and restoration processes for all floor surface types.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
