About The Position

UPMC Passavant–McCandless is hiring a full-time Floor & Project Technician to support its Housekeeping team. The position is on the second shift, from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. Title and pay are based on experience and education. The technician performs housekeeping and floor-care tasks in a hospital, following safety, sanitation, and hospital policies to help protect patients, visitors, and staff. The role offers a team-focused environment and opportunities to learn skills and grow within UPMC.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or one year of previous job experience in lieu of a high school diploma or GED, or successful completion of the five-week EVS training program.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to complete housekeeping duties successfully.
• Ability to use all housekeeping equipment.
• May work in rooms where medications are stored; contact with medications is not allowed.
• Act 34 clearance.

Responsibilities

• Handle emergency cleanups using proper sanitizing procedures.
• Shampoo and extract carpets in assigned areas.
• Maintain floors by removing soil, wax, and sealers.
• Inspect assigned areas and report issues to a supervisor.
• Use and care for equipment safely and responsibly.
• Follow safety and sanitation standards to help keep patients, visitors, and staff safe.
• Work within hospital policies and support system-wide behaviors.
• Perform other duties as needed to support the team.
