About The Position

The Floor Care Technician ensures assigned housekeeping floor areas are clean and sanitized and services assigned public and associate areas to meet Omni Standards. The role performs floor care, including stripping, sealing, finishing, waxing, and polishing floors, as well as cleaning carpets and other surfaces. It also includes maintaining equipment and the janitor’s closet, cleaning the garage weekly, and performing miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to use cleaning equipment and chemicals, including floor scrubbers, vacuums, blowers, degreaser, multipurpose cleaners, and enzymes.
• Ability to operate all cleaning equipment and machinery.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, push, and pull.
• Ability to stand for the duration of the shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor care, including waxing, stripping, sealing, finishing, and polishing floors.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors, following procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage.
• Dust and wash furniture, walls, machines, and equipment; clean ceilings; and dust and polish light fixtures.
• Wash and replace blinds.
• Move furniture, cabinets, boxes, crates, and equipment to clean areas, manually or using hand trucks.
• Remove stains from rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions; prepare solutions according to specifications.
• Clean and vacuum carpeted areas, including applying spot-cleaning treatment.
• Gather and empty trash in garages.
• Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Periodically clean overhead vents, dust blinds, and polish wood furniture.
• Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners and tools.
• Keep the janitor’s closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working order.
• Make basic repairs as needed.
• Clean the garage weekly.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
