Floating Pharmacy Technician
About The Position
The Pharmacy Technician 2 obtains new prescriptions and prescription refill information and performs varied, moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer-support assignments. The role involves computations and typically semi-routine work. The technician works within defined expectations and quality standards, with some discretion in prioritizing and timing assignments, and under minimal direction. The position provides regional support to cover pharmacist paid time off and other coverage needs at two pharmacies located inside CenterWell Senior Primary Care clinics in Kansas City, Kansas, and Kansas City, Missouri. Staff pharmacists interact directly with patients, clinic staff, and providers. The anticipated need averages one eight-hour day per week. The role is patient-facing and requires TB screening if selected.
Requirements
- Must hold an active license with the Board of Pharmacy in Missouri and Kansas.
- Experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Must undergo tuberculosis (TB) screening if selected, as the role is patient-facing and part of the TB screening program.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED.
- CPhT or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve, count, and measure drugs.
- Assist the pharmacist with price-checking and restocking drugs.
- Access, enter, and retrieve prescription information using a computer.
- Refer physicians' calls and medical questions to the pharmacist.
- May operate a cash register.
- Provide coverage for pharmacist paid time off and other business needs at two regional pharmacy locations.
