Floating Pharmacy Technician
About The Position
The Pharmacy Technician 2 obtains new prescriptions and prescription refill information and performs varied, moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer-support assignments. The role includes performing computations and typically involves semi-routine assignments. The technician works within defined parameters and standard policies, with some discretion in interpreting methods, prioritizing work, and timing, and under minimal direction. The role reports to a Pharmacist Lead. This is a regional support position intended to cover paid time off and provide additional pharmacy coverage as needed. The technician works at two CenterWell Senior Primary Care clinic pharmacies, based on business needs. The pharmacies are located at 7527 State Ave, Kansas City, KS 66112, and 301 E Armour Blvd, Suite 2-East, Kansas City, MO 64111. The posted schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST, with a 30-minute lunch break; anticipated need averages one eight-hour day per week. Scheduled weekly hours are listed as one. The role is patient-facing and participates in Humana/Senior Bridge’s tuberculosis screening program. If selected, the employee will be required to undergo TB screening.
Requirements
- Hold an active license with the Board of Pharmacy in Missouri and Kansas.
- Have experience as a pharmacy technician.
- Undergo tuberculosis screening if selected for this patient-facing role.
Nice To Haves

- CPhT certification or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Obtain new prescription and prescription refill information.
- Retrieve, count, and measure drugs.
- Assist the pharmacist with price-checking and restocking drugs.
- Access, input, and retrieve prescription information from a computer.
- Refer physicians’ calls and medical questions to a pharmacist.
- May operate a cash register.
- Provide coverage for pharmacist time off and additional coverage as business needs require.
- Follow standard policies and practices while meeting defined work expectations and quality standards.
