About The Position

Acelero Learning is hiring a Floater Assistant Teacher to support early childhood education and help improve outcomes for children and families. The role works collaboratively with a Preschool Teacher to support the successful operation of a Head Start classroom serving children ages 3–5. The position is at Acelero Learning Wisconsin’s Cudahy South Center and is scheduled to begin in Fall 2026. Compensation is $18.90 per hour, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

Strong communication and writing skills.
A passion for working with children.
CDA credentials, willingness to enroll to complete CDA credentials within two years, an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in any field, or enrollment in a program to obtain such a degree.

Responsibilities

Maintain a child-centered curriculum and learning environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation, promoting development across all domains for children of all abilities.
Address challenging behaviors by observing to determine possible causes, implementing preventive measures, teaching children new social and communication skills, and partnering with families to support children at home.
Use observations and anecdotal notes to document children’s progress and individualize the curriculum.
Collaborate with the Preschool Teacher to support the successful operation of a Head Start classroom.
