This is a float position within the Radiology: Ultrasound department. The role requires proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and/or cardiac procedures. The technician will accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings, review patient medical records for clinical information, and ensure exam accuracy by comparing requisitions to physician orders. The position involves positioning patients, selecting appropriate equipment, and adjusting technical factors for optimal imaging while ensuring patient safety and comfort. The technician will use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures based on diagnostic information and images, and accurately label all images. Record maintenance, data entry into the radiology information system, and documentation of billing codes are also key responsibilities. The role includes identifying and reporting equipment performance issues, evaluating new products, and analyzing sonograms to communicate findings to physicians. Additionally, the Float Ultrasound Tech will serve as a technical resource and preceptor for students and staff, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and demonstrate knowledge of age-specific patient care needs.
