About The Position

Under the direction of a radiologist, this Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Assumes responsibility for tasks orцыі procedures as assigned. Performs data entry operations using appropriate hospital software package. Staff member may be required to provide coverage at various locations in the network.

Requirements

  • 6 months clinical ultrasound experience (inclusive of education) Required
  • Sonography Principles & Instrumentation - Certificate American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) eligible. Includes passing SPI exam (Sonography Principles and Instrumentation Exam) or ARRT Sonography certification. Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Current and valid Basic Life Support Certification at the time of hire Required
  • If ARRT when hired, ARDMS SPI credentialed 180 Days Required
  • Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - License or RVT credentialed. This includes passing one of the following exams: • Abdomen • Breast • Obstetrics and Gynecology • Pediatric Sonography • Vascular Technology 1 Year or 18 months if hired with ARRT Required

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Graduation from an accredited program for diagnostic medical sonography Preferred
  • Associates Preferred
  • Two (2) or more ARDMS specialty credentials. Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs ultrasound techniques and examination; including but not limited to abdominal, OB/GYN, and small parts, by selecting proper technical factors on individual patient basis and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient's safety and comfort.
  • Transports patient to and from exam room/table, prepares and maintains room.
  • Acquires digital images and evaluates for technical quality.
  • Assists physician in diagnostic procedures and with administering medications.
  • Assists in coordination of daily workflow for the department’s activities.
  • Maintains equipment in efficient operating order.
  • Performs and documents all required quality control testing.
  • Contacts service for repair and maintenance as directed.
  • Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictates.
  • Participates in orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff, as needed.
  • Maintains an orderly, clean and safe environment of patients and staff in assigned area.
  • Maintains stock and inventory as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
