About The Position

HonorHealth is seeking an MRI Technologist for their Float Pool. This PRN position requires 12 shifts per quarter, including one winter holiday, one summer holiday, and one difficult-to-staff day. The technologist must be willing to float to at least three HonorHealth locations. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 6 months of MR experience via employment or training required.
  • Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
  • One of the following is required prior to start date: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Magnetic Resonance (ARRT-MR), American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT), or U.S. military Radiology General Procedures training program.

  • Associate's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of a radiologist, performs diagnostic/therapeutic MRI procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
  • Reviews patient identification, orders, and history to ensure correct patient, procedure, imaging site, and MRI eligibility.
  • Protocols procedures with a radiologist as needed.
  • Transports patients to and from the exam room and assists them into position using safe patient handling techniques and equipment.
  • Performs MRI procedures and observes patients during the procedure to ensure safety and comfort.
  • Administers contrast materials as required and initiates emergency response to contrast reactions if needed.
  • Obtains and evaluates images for technical quality assurance factors, including image laterality marking and annotation.
  • Utilizes RIS, PACS, and other ancillary image management systems.
  • Assists in coordinating daily workflow for the department’s activities.
  • Maintains equipment in efficient operating order and performs/documents required quality control testing.
  • Contacts service for repair and maintenance as directed.
  • Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictates.
  • Participates in orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff as needed.
  • Maintains an orderly, clean, and safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Maintains stock and inventory as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
