About The Position

Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network is the premier rehabilitation provider in Connecticut, offering services across a continuum of care including acute care hospitals, long term care facilities, sub-acute rehabilitation, homecare, outpatient centers, and community settings. We have over 40 outpatient locations specializing in physical, occupational, and speech therapy, with expertise in orthopedics, neuroscience, oncology, women’s health, sports medicine, vestibular, and more. We are known for our commitment to high quality, customer-focused outcomes. We are seeking a Float Physical Therapist (PT) with a passion for Outpatient care, to work as part of a dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to cover multiple sites in the greater Southington, Newington, and New Britain areas, treating specialties including vestibular care, concussion management, sports medicine, neurologic/movement disorders, balance and gait assessment, and orthopedics including post-op. The clinician will report directly to the local area manager. This is a great opportunity to work with a diverse orthopedic population in a wonderful team atmosphere with experienced clinicians and leading orthopedic physicians, nurses, and physician assistants.

Requirements

  • BS, MS or DPT in Physical Therapy from an accredited American Physical Therapy Association Program.
  • Current CT Physical Therapy license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Outpatient specific experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to float to multiple outpatient locations across the Central CT area.

Responsibilities

  • Independently evaluates, determines treatment strategies, delivers and/or delegates services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain, with emphasis on physical dysfunction.
  • Encompasses evaluation skills and techniques, analysis of patients, and therapeutic application of physical and chemical agents, exercise and other procedures to maximize the patient's functional independence.
  • Evaluation involves strength, motor control, joint mobility, soft tissue integrity, pain, balance, coordination, posture, cardiopulmonary function, endurance, gait and functional abilities in activities of daily living.
  • This role will float to all Physical Medicine office locations on an as needed basis.
