About The Position

Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network, a premier rehabilitation provider in Connecticut, is seeking a Float Physical Therapist (PT) for outpatient care. This role offers the opportunity to cover seven sites in the greater Southington, Newington, and New Britain areas, treating a diverse orthopedic population and specialties including vestibular care, concussion management, sports medicine, neurologic/movement disorders, balance and gait assessment, and orthopedics including post-op. The Physical Therapist independently evaluates, determines treatment strategies, delivers, and/or delegates services to identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain, with an emphasis on physical dysfunction. This encompasses evaluation skills and techniques, patient analysis, and therapeutic application of physical and chemical agents, exercise, and other procedures to maximize functional independence. Evaluations involve assessing strength, motor control, joint mobility, soft tissue integrity, pain, balance, coordination, posture, cardiopulmonary function, endurance, gait, and functional abilities in activities of daily living. The position reports directly to the local area manager, though the reporting structure is site-dependent, and requires floating to various Physical Medicine office locations as needed.

Requirements

  • BS, MS or DPT in Physical Therapy from an accredited American Physical Therapy Association Program.
  • Current CT Physical Therapy license required.
  • Ability to float to multiple outpatient locations across the Central CT area.

  • Outpatient specific experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Independently evaluate, determine treatment strategies, deliver and/or delegate services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain, with emphasis on physical dysfunction.
  • Encompass evaluation skills and techniques, analysis of patients, and therapeutic application of physical and chemical agents, exercise and other procedures to maximize the patient's functional independence.
  • Perform evaluations involving strength, motor control, joint mobility, soft tissue integrity, pain, balance, coordination, posture, cardiopulmonary function, endurance, gait and functional abilities in activities of daily living.
  • Float to all Physical Medicine office locations on an as needed basis.
