About The Position

Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network is Connecticut’s premier rehabilitation provider, offering services across acute care hospitals, long-term care facilities, sub-acute rehabilitation, homecare, outpatient centers, and community settings. The network boasts over 40 outpatient locations providing physical, occupational, and speech therapy in various specialties including orthopedics, neuroscience, oncology, women’s health, sports medicine, and vestibular therapy. The organization is committed to high-quality, customer-focused outcomes. This specific position is for a Physical Therapist (PT) at the Outpatient Clinic in Westport, CT, which is a flagship location within Fairfield County. This clinic is connected to the Ayer Neuroscience Spine Wellness center and operates as part of a multidisciplinary team of medical, rehabilitation, and wellness professionals. The therapist will collaborate with professionals offering rehabilitation, pain management, physical medicine, integrative medicine, fitness, nutrition, and behavioral health services to enhance surgical and non-surgical patient outcomes. The clinics feature ample private treatment spaces and state-of-the-art gyms. Specialty programs available at this clinic include Balance & Falls (Safe Steps), Cancer Rehabilitation, Complex Spine, Concussion, Dry Needling, Gender-Affirming Rehab, Headache Management, Chronic Pain Management, Pelvic Health, Sports Medicine, Thoracic Outlet, and Vestibular Therapy.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Physical Therapy Program from an accredited American Physical Therapy Association school, with a BS, master's, or doctorate degree.
  • CT active or temporary license.

Responsibilities

  • Independently evaluate, determine treatment strategies, deliver and/or delegate services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain, with emphasis on physical dysfunction.
  • Utilize evaluation skills and techniques, patient analysis, and therapeutic application of physical and chemical agents, exercise, and other procedures to maximize patient's functional independence.
  • Conduct evaluations involving strength, motor control, joint mobility, soft tissue integrity, pain, balance, coordination, posture, cardiopulmonary function, endurance, gait, and functional abilities in activities of daily living.
