About The Position

Full-time Float Nurse position whose duties include covering students across the county with medical needs during the school day, on bus routes, field trips, and extra-curricular activities. Includes opportunities to support the nursing program by assisting with on compliance monitoring and initiative development and implementation.

Requirements

• Hold a current Alabama License for Associate Degree in nursing (ADN), Bachelor’s Degree in nursing (BSN), or Practical Nursing (LPN).
• Clinical nursing skills necessary to provide safe care to students with special health care needs.
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with administration, nursing supervisor, faculty, parents and students.
• Ability to demonstrate complete, accurate and timely documentation of health services rendered.
• Possess current CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

• Clinical nursing experience with school age children in the hospital, community health or pediatric clinic desired.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
