About The Position

Sunstates Security is seeking to hire Flex Security Officers in the Laurel, MD area. These positions are on-call/as needed, offering a pay rate of $21.00/hr with weekly pay. The Flex Officer position is crucial to the company’s operational and financial success, providing trained, competent support by working shifts that become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This ensures continual, uninterrupted service to customers while protecting the health and work-life balance of personnel. Flex officers will be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need. While a temporary assignment at a specific post may last several weeks, it will not be permanent. The schedule, including shifts, days off, and hours per week, will vary based on operational needs. Officers will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available. Some shifts will be scheduled in advance, while others may require short-notice coverage. Officers are expected to work shifts scheduled in advance within their availability and to work at least 80% of shifts offered for short-notice call-ins. Refusing more than 20% of called-in shifts may negatively impact employment status. Sunstates Security will consider reasonable accommodations for disability and religious reasons.
