Sunstates Security is hiring Flex Security Officers to cover multiple sites in the Palo Alto, CA area. This position offers a pay rate of $31.00/hr, paid weekly. The Flex Officer position is crucial to the company’s operational and financial success, providing trained, competent support by working shifts that become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to customers while protecting the health and work balance of personnel. The scheduling parameters and expectations for a flex officer are different from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. You will be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need. Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need. You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs. Some shifts will be scheduled in advance, while others may require short notice to cover for someone unable to work. You are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called in for short-notice call-ins. Refusing more than 20% of called-in shifts could negatively impact employment status. A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and must be knowledgeable and able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.
