Fleet Technician - Intermediate Level - Savannah, GA
About The Position
Velocity Vehicle Group is hiring an intermediate-level Diesel Technician in Savannah, Georgia. The technician performs major and minor repairs on commercial trucks, applying mechanical and electrical knowledge while following applicable regulations and standards. The role includes supporting customers throughout the repair process, completing work under supervision, maintaining accurate documentation and inventory control, and contributing to a safe work environment. The technician is expected to take initiative, work independently when needed, and participate in prescribed training.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience in mechanical inspections and repairs in a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in heavy truck repairs or a related field.
- Must have or be willing to obtain a valid Class B Driver’s License within a specified timeframe.
- Ability to pursue a Class B Commercial Driver’s License.
- Ability to understand and comply with Company Policies.
- Fundamental knowledge of heavy-duty electrical systems.
- Capability to assist in diagnosing failures and executing repairs.
- Familiarity with component rebuilds and replacements, such as engines and transmissions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must pass a post-offer drug test and physical.

- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Participate in specific training programs as prescribed by VTRL.
- Assist in diagnosing failures and executing repairs.
