About The Position

Ameren Illinois provides electric transmission and distribution service and natural gas distribution service to customers in central and southern Illinois. This posting is for future opportunities at this site.

The Fleet Technician performs activities related to the repair and maintenance of transportation equipment, including passenger cars, trucks, aerial units, and power-operated equipment. The role includes diagnosing and repairing engine, drivetrain, body, chassis, electrical, hydraulic, and special-equipment systems, as well as welding. This position performs DOT-covered safety-sensitive functions.

The stated hourly pay is $51.78. The position is eligible for annual incentive payments based on company performance and subject to sole management discretion. Benefits information is available on the company’s Benefits & Perks Page for regular full-time employees.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or successful completion of a high school equivalency examination.
• Successful completion of an approved educational program in Automotive Maintenance, or its equivalent.
• Two years of satisfactory work in an automotive maintenance facility in a repair technician classification, or its equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL with Airbrake endorsements.
• Pass the Construction Skilled Trades (CAST) aptitude test and written automotive mechanic exam.
