About The Position

TCI Leasing is seeking a dedicated, experienced Fleet Shop Supervisor to lead its busy fleet maintenance and repair facility. The supervisor manages daily shop activities and personnel, coordinates repairs to minimize vehicle downtime, and ensures the fleet remains safe, clean, ready, and reliable. The role also involves planning and scheduling maintenance, managing tires and shop equipment, and communicating with drivers, customers, and other internal and external contacts.

Requirements

Knowledge of the transportation industry.
Ability to multitask.
Valid driver's license; a commercial license is preferred.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to be on call.
Effective communication with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day activities in a maintenance repair facility.
Take information about breakdowns and dispatch local and out-of-area repairs to minimize downtime.
Complete accurate written records of work performed.
Maintain a clean work and shop area in accordance with Safety SOPs.
Communicate with drivers and customers regarding Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs).
Manage shop personnel and supervise their productivity.
Monitor yard conditions and provide a safe working environment.
Monitor the overall condition, cleanliness, readiness, and reliability of the fleet.
Ensure preventive maintenance is completed on time and manage scheduling.
Manage tires and the proper use and control of shop equipment.
Conduct daily quality inspections.
Prioritize jobs on the daily work planning sheet.
