About The Position

Join our fleet team as a Reefer Diesel Mechanic! We are looking for skilled technicians to perform repairs and maintenance on diesel reefer equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, rebuilding, and replacing components of THERMO KING & CARRIER TRAILER REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS, and Reefer Microprocessors. You will also perform preventative maintenance, mentor other shop personnel, handle road calls, and utilize fleet maintenance software. A strong safety culture, newer equipment, and excellent local leadership are part of our work environment. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Requirements

  • Must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician.
  • TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certifications.
  • Must be willing to travel and attend training provided by US Foods.
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to reefer equipment repairs.
  • Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must furnish own personal hand tools.
  • Ability to read and understand technical and online service manuals.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA & DOT regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet.
  • Computer and software experience/ Noregon Diag Equip/A/C Recovery, Etc.
  • Able to repair and overhaul warehouse equipment.
  • Welding ability.
  • Valid Class A CDL license and DOT certification.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel reefer equipment (THERMO KING & CARRIER TRAILER REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS, Reefer Microprocessors, etc.).
  • Perform preventative maintenance within manufacturer standards.
  • Mentor other maintenance shop personnel.
  • Receive road calls, assign third party vendor, and work with business partners on plan of action.
  • Utilize fleet maintenance software system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
  • Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
