About The Position

Star Blend is seeking a Fleet Operations Manager to lead the strategy, performance, and long-term direction of our fleet department. In this role, you’ll oversee all fleet assets, drivers, logistics, and transportation operations to ensure safe, compliant, efficient, and reliable service. You’ll work closely with Operations, Safety, Finance, and Dispatch while driving continuous improvement, elevating service levels, and ensuring our fleet is always ready to support production and customer delivery needs.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in fleet, logistics, transportation, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of DOT, FMCSA, and transportation compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing fleet assets (trucks, trailers, equipment), preventive maintenance, and vendor relationships.
  • A data-driven mindset with the ability to monitor KPIs, analyze trends, and make strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with drivers, team members, vendors, and cross-functional partners.
  • A passion for continuous improvement—routing, safety, maintenance, technology, and efficiency.
  • Ability to travel regularly between locations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, performance, and long-term direction of the fleet department.
  • Oversee all fleet assets, drivers, logistics, and transportation operations.
  • Ensure safe, compliant, efficient, and reliable service.
  • Work closely with Operations, Safety, Finance, and Dispatch.
  • Drive continuous improvement, elevate service levels, and ensure fleet readiness.
  • Review fleet performance, driver schedules, and routing adjustments.
  • Collaborate with Dispatch to reduce empty miles, evaluate backhaul opportunities, and solve routing challenges.
  • Coordinate with Fleet staff on maintenance schedules, equipment issues, vendor coordination, and inspections.
  • Review budget performance, fuel trends, and equipment utilization metrics.
  • Identify areas for cost savings or efficiency improvements.
  • Visit company sites to support drivers, strengthen relationships, and ensure alignment.
  • Partner with Safety to review compliance status, evaluate incidents, and reinforce driver training.
  • Lead team coaching, 1:1s, and KPI reviews.
  • Plan future fleet needs, review vendor contracts, and prepare strategic recommendations.
