Fleet Maintenance Technician
About The Position
A Fleet Maintenance Technician provides repairs and maintenance for River Valley Cooperative’s fleet to help ensure high safety standards are met and maintained. The technician performs service and maintenance procedures and develops knowledge and proficiency in areas including brakes, computer diagnostics, welding and fabrication, air conditioning, hydraulics, driveline systems, electrical systems, and basic engine operation and repair. The role also involves attending courses to build repair and maintenance knowledge, accurately tracking and invoicing repairs and time for each unit, and maintaining assigned sites to meet State, Federal, and River Valley Cooperative requirements. Other related duties may be assigned to meet organizational needs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- General knowledge of repair and maintenance.
- Basic computer skills.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Demonstrate customer focus, integrity, safety and quality focus, and dependability.
Nice To Haves
- Class A CDL preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic fleet service and maintenance procedures accurately.
- Learn and perform brake inspections and repairs.
- Learn to operate supplied computer diagnostic equipment proficiently.
- Operate welding and fabrication equipment.
- Learn and perform air-conditioning repair and service.
- Understand the operation and repair of hydraulics and associated equipment.
- Perform maintenance and repair of driveline systems.
- Understand the operation and repair of electrical systems and basic engine operation and repair.
- Attend courses to build knowledge in repair and maintenance fields.
- Accurately track and invoice repairs and time allocated to work performed on each unit.
- Maintain assigned sites for safe operations and compliance with State, Federal, and River Valley Cooperative requirements.
- Perform other roles and responsibilities as assigned by the manager and other related duties as needed.
