Anthem Parkside at Merrill Ranch in Florence, AZ is a vibrant, all-ages resort-style community featuring a 43,000 sq. ft. recreation center, waterpark, fitness facilities, sports courts, parks, golf course and year-round amenities for active living. We're seeking an enthusiastic, dependable team player dedicated to creating an exceptional resident experience. In this fitness staff role, you'll help maintain clean, organized, safe and welcoming fitness and recreation facilities while providing excellent service to residents & guests. This role is cross trained to provide Front Desk Monitor coverage, including greeting residents and guests, answering phones and supporting front desk operations. Position Summary: Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the fitness center and surrounding recreation facilities while providing excellent customer service to residents and guests. Performs routine cleaning and sanitizing of fitness equipment and common areas, conducts facility rounds at the pool and parks, reports maintenance concerns, and assists in ensuring community rules and safety standards are followed. Cross-trained to provide Front Desk Monitor coverage as needed, including greeting residents and guests, answering phones, and assisting with daily front desk operations.

Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively within the department as well as with other departments.
Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities, to include the exchange and receipt of information over the telephone.
Position involves frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and moving objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Duties also require the ability to safely pull, remove, and replace pool covers.
Must be able to transport oneself throughout the office, the association, and recreation center facilities.
Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and possess good reasoning skills.

Responsibilities

Monitor fitness and recreation areas for safety, equipment, and facility concerns; identify and report damaged equipment, safety hazards, or maintenance issues and submit work orders as needed.
Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of fitness equipment and fitness center areas, including wiping down machines, picking up discarded items, and performing other minor custodial duties.
Organize and properly store fitness equipment, including free weights, resistance bands, mats, and accessories.
Monitor resident and guest use of fitness and recreation facilities to ensure compliance with established community policies and safety guidelines; communicate policies and procedures as needed.
Perform minor custodial duties to include wiping down machines, picking up discarded items, etc.
Perform established facility opening and closing procedures and identify opportunities for improvement.
Crosstrain and provide Front Desk Monitor coverage, including greeting residents and guests, answering telephones, assisting visitors, and supporting administrative functions when assigned.
Assist with the setup, breakdown, and cleaning of community events and recreational activities as needed.
Respond to emergency situations per First Aid/CPR training and/or facility procedures as necessary.
Operate, oversee and engage residents participating in the rock wall during operating hours.
Performs other related duties as directed.
