About The Position

HealthFitness, a Trustmark company, is seeking a full-time Fitness Program Manager to oversee daily operations at Navy Federal Credit Union's on-site Fitness Center in Winchester, VA. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Kinesiology or related discipline OR equivalent combination of education, current certifications, and experience.
  • 2+ years’ related industry experience.
  • Current Adult CPR/AED/First Aid certifications from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, National Safety Institute, or American Safety & Health Institute required by start date (must have an in-person component).
  • Industry recognized Group Exercise certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT, NETA -or- NCCA Accredited Personal Trainer certification from an Industry recognized and HealthFitness approved agency required within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to lead, manage and operate a fitness center.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including the ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Both Group Exercise and Personal Trainer certifications required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and directs all operational aspects of an on-site fitness program, ensuring high levels of participation, results achievement, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures contract compliance and develops and adheres to the strategic business plan.
  • Supervises, trains, and develops staff.
  • Designs and facilitates a variety of health and fitness programs.
  • Develops outcomes-focused management reports.
  • Manages all program activities in accordance with HealthFitness operational, quality, safety, and service standards.
  • Develops and implements the yearly strategic business plan to identify contract deliverables, program/service offerings, initiatives, targeted outcomes, and marketing strategy.
  • Prepares and manages the operating budget, ensuring expenditures align with policies.
  • Leads staff meetings to inform associates about company, client, and program events.
  • Manages client relationships to ensure high customer satisfaction and reinforce HealthFitness value.
  • Directs the implementation of individual and group fitness programs, health education activities, motivational programs, and special events.
  • Coordinates marketing and communications to maximize program engagement.
  • Tracks participant and program data for goal achievement measurement and creates management reports.
  • Manages all record and data management activities, ensuring proper storage, retention, and confidentiality.
  • Conducts daily safety checks and performs routine safety audits.
  • Performs staff responsibilities as appropriate, including floor supervision, fitness testing, exercise prescription, orientations, personal training, and group exercise instruction.
  • Verifies equipment maintenance, ensures locker room cleanliness, and coordinates resolution of facility issues.
  • Introduces new HealthFitness programs, products, and services to the client in conjunction with the Contract Manager.
