PT - Fitness Instructor - Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak
About The Position
The Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak is looking for a Fitness Instructor to join their Tocasierra Spa Team. This role involves servicing guests in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction. The Fitness Instructor is responsible for creating exercise programs, supervising and instructing clients, and potentially providing specialized training with certifications in Muscle Activation Training. They will also collaborate with management on marketing initiatives for training programs and focus on guest satisfaction, company standards, and profit maximization.
Requirements
- Ability to perform all fitness instructor's essential functions
- Excellent knowledge of human anatomy, exercise physiology, nutrition, resistance training, theory, proper form, and technique
- Ability to reach, bend, and stoop for long periods of time
- Ability to make quick, accurate decisions
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to supervise effectively
- Good knowledge of both mechanical and functional capabilities of fitness equipment
- Ability to communicate in English
- Self-starting personality with an even disposition
- Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times
- Ability to communicate well with guests
- Willingness to 'pitch-in' and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player
- Ability to effectively deal with both internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts
- Ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

- Specific training and certifications in Muscle Activation Training preferred
Responsibilities
- Writing and creating exercise programs
- Supervising and instructing clients in meeting their fitness goals
- Providing specialized training for members and guests, including consultations and continued wellness plans (preferred)
- Working with management to create and implement marketing directives to enhance training programs
- Directing all service efforts towards guest satisfaction, achievement/maintenance of company standards, and profit maximization
- Servicing guests around the resort in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner
