About The Position

The Fishing & Ice Fishing Sales associate welcomes customers, provides personalized product guidance, and supports sales and shop operations. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer experiences, meeting individual sales goals, maintaining merchandise presentation and inventory, and demonstrating product use. Associates are expected to contribute to a team-first, accountable, honest, and adaptable employee-owner culture.

Requirements

Ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED.
Ideal candidate has 1–3 months of sales experience.
Ability to sit, stand, bend, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
Ability to use a personal computer and handheld inventory computer/scanner.

Responsibilities

Greet customers on the sales floor courteously and warmly.
Engage customers, identify their needs, recommend appropriate products, and promote the Scheels Visa Credit Card.
Grow personal sales by meeting goals and following Scheels' professional salesmanship standards and steps of the sale.
Create a positive end-user experience based on the products customers purchase.
Maintain visual merchandising standards and assist with freight processing and inventory restocking.
Demonstrate product usage within the shop and retrieve products from heights greater than 6 feet.
Attend required product training and store meetings.
Assist in training new associates in areas of store expertise.
Use a personal computer and handheld inventory computer/scanner for programs including Microsoft Office, Google Email/Docs, and AS400.
Perform other duties assigned by the leadership team.
Follow safety procedures and perform duties in a manner that minimizes injury risk.
