About The Position

Santa Monica Seafood Company, a wholesale seafood distributor serving the foodservice industry, is hiring a full-time Fish Cutter/Packer. The role involves packaging and labeling fish products, maintaining product quality and food safety, handling and preparing finished products for shipment, and supporting daily production goals. Work takes place in a refrigerated production environment. The schedule is 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., up to six days a week, with Saturday off. Pay is $27–$28 per hour, depending on experience (DOE).

Requirements

• Meet the physical demands of the job, including regularly standing, walking, and sitting while cutting fish.
• Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel while cutting fish.
• Regularly lift up to 75 pounds and move more than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Have close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally climb or balance.

Responsibilities

• Package and label fish products according to company specifications.
• Maintain product quality and food safety standards during production.
• Work in a refrigerated production environment.
• Prepare finished products for shipment and distribution.
• Assist with product handling, sorting, and packing operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production area.
• Follow safety procedures, GMPs, and company policies.
• Support production efficiency and meet daily production goals.
