About The Position

The Firearms Sales Associate is responsible for firearms counter sales and customer service, as well as floor and counter sales of other hunting merchandise. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience by greeting customers promptly and warmly, handling merchandise carefully, and providing information, assistance, and direction. The associate helps customers make purchasing decisions, maintains firearms merchandise and sales areas, and stays current on products, advertised sales, pricing, and company procedures. The position works under general supervision and uses established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and make recommendations about work practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• 0–2 years of retail experience.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition products.
• Knowledge of ATF federal and state regulations.
• Customer service and sales knowledge relating to firearms and ammunition.
• Knowledge of GCA.
• Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.
• Ability to stand and/or walk constantly during the shift.
• Ability to move objects up to 20 pounds constantly and occasionally move or lift objects up to 100 pounds or more using a team lift as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, prompt customer service and a productive shopping experience.
• Help customers make buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs and recommending products.
• Promote programs including CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
• Ensure Form 4473 is completed thoroughly and accurately.
• Demonstrate products to customers.
• Organize and maintain merchandise for sales at the gun counter.
• Replenish shelf products according to merchandising guidelines.
• Maintain product expertise through ongoing product knowledge training.
• Stay knowledgeable about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
