PT Firearms Instructor
About The Position
Mission 94 is seeking a knowledgeable, experienced, and customer-focused Firearms Instructor to educate and train members and customers. The instructor provides expert instruction and helps ensure a safe and positive learning experience. The role involves teaching in classroom and training bay settings and providing personal instruction to shooters of all levels, including people new to firearms. The position calls for excellent communication, patience, friendliness, an ability to connect with students and build relationships, and a passion for delivering an outstanding experience. Hours include weekdays and weekends, up to approximately 20 hours per week.
Requirements
- Current pistol and rifle instructor certification from NRA, USCCA, or equivalent.
- Knowledge and understanding of common firearm actions, including semi-auto, revolver, lever action, pump action, and bolt action, and of pistol and rifle platforms.
- Experience training civilian students at varying skill levels, from beginners to experienced shooters, in proper firearm handling, storage, and operation.
- Experience providing one-on-one instruction.
- Willingness to work in a training bay setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-centric mindset with a friendly and helpful attitude.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy objects.
Nice To Haves
- Additional certification as a Shotgun Instructor.
Responsibilities
- Guide students toward appropriate training paths by understanding their current skills and knowledge, goals, and desired outcomes.
- Conduct classes and provide one-on-one and small-group lessons.
- Provide instructional and/or range support for member and special events.
- Collaborate with Training team members, management, and Mission 94 staff to achieve the organization’s mission and maintain a safe, supportive environment.
