About The Position

The Sales Outfitter - Firearms maintains counter sales and customer service for firearms, along with floor and counter sales of other hunting merchandise. The role includes greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise carefully, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction.

The position supports a high standard of customer service and a pleasant, productive shopping experience. The Outfitter assists customers with purchasing decisions, completes firearm transaction forms accurately, demonstrates products, maintains merchandise and displays, and stays current on product knowledge, advertised sales, pricing, and signage. Work is performed under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and make recommendations about work practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of retail experience.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition products.
• Knowledge of ATF federal and state regulations.
• Customer service and sales experience with firearms and ammunition.
• Knowledge of GCA.
• Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and help ensure a pleasant, productive shopping experience.
• Identify and evaluate customers’ needs and recommend products based on that assessment.
• Promote programs including CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
• Complete ATF Form 4473 thoroughly and accurately.
• Demonstrate products to customers.
• Organize and maintain merchandise for gun-counter sales.
• Replenish products on shelves according to merchandising guidelines.
• Maintain product expertise through ongoing training.
• Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
