About The Position

The Sales Outfitter - Firearms maintains counter sales and customer service for firearms, along with floor and counter sales of other hunting merchandise. The role involves greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise carefully, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction.

The position supports a high standard of customer service and helps create a pleasant, productive shopping experience. The Sales Outfitter assists customers with buying decisions, completes firearm transaction forms accurately, demonstrates products, maintains merchandise and pricing, and develops product knowledge through ongoing training. The role is performed under general supervision, following established procedures while using some independent judgment to complete assignments and recommend improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of retail experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition products.
• Knowledge of ATF federal and state regulations.
• Customer service and sales experience or knowledge relating to firearms and ammunition.
• Knowledge of GCA.
• Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and support a pleasant, productive shopping experience.
• Help customers make purchasing decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs and recommending products.
• Promote programs including CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
• Complete ATF Form 4473 thoroughly and accurately.
• Demonstrate products to customers.
• Organize and maintain merchandise at the gun counter and in the retail store.
• Replenish products on shelves according to merchandising guidelines.
• Maintain product expertise through ongoing product knowledge training.
• Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and well stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
