About The Position

Johnson Controls is hiring a Fire Installer IV to maintain, repair, install, and program conventional and addressable fire alarm, security, nurse call, intercom, CCTV, and other related building systems. The role includes inspecting and installing electronic fire systems and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, programs, schematics, and manuals. The position may require overtime and overnight stays during busy project schedules.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 3 years of experience in fire alarm or integrated security systems maintenance.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Electrical installation experience.
Excellent customer interaction skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to troubleshoot and make repairs without management assistance.
Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
Pass a criminal background check and drug test.
Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company requirements.
Ability to obtain and retain licenses required by National, State, and Local codes.
Knowledge of test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, digital analyzers, battery analyzers, frequency meters, decibel meters, and communication devices.
Ability to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds.
Ability to work in unusual or difficult positions, including on ladders or scaffolding and in ducts or crawl spaces above ceilings.

Responsibilities

Maintain, repair, install, and program conventional and addressable fire alarm, security, nurse call, intercom, CCTV, and related building systems products.
Perform inspections and installation activities on electronic fire systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software and systems, programs, schematics, and operation or product manuals.
Troubleshoot and make repairs independently.
