About The Position

Tribble Electric is seeking a motivated Fire Alarm & Low Voltage Electrical Apprentice to join our Integrated Systems team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to build a career in life safety and low voltage systems. The ideal candidate is dependable, eager to learn, safety focused, and enjoys working in a team environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Interest in electrical, electronics, or integrated building systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to pass preemployment drug screening and background check.
  • Have reliable transportation and able to drive a 50-mile radius from Tribble Electric’s main office.
  • Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
  • Must have positive points on state driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
  • Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous construction or low-voltage experience.
  • OSHA-10 Certification, or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of integrated systems, including fire alarm, access control, video surveillance, structured cabling, and audiovisual (AV) systems.
  • Work under the supervision of licensed Journeymen and experienced Integrated Systems technicians.
  • Learn to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, riser diagrams, and system drawings.
  • Assist with the installation and routing of fire alarm, network, fiber optic, and other low-voltage cabling.
  • Learn proper installation, termination, labeling, and testing of fire alarm devices and low-voltage equipment.
  • Assist with programming support, system startup, inspections, and commissioning activities as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company policies, OSHA requirements, NEC, NFPA, and applicable local codes.
  • Demonstrate professionalism when interacting with customers, contractors, and other trades.
  • Participate in company and manufacturer training programs to develop technical skills.
