As a Field Service Technician, you are the front line and back bone of ORR Protection. You will work with some of the largest and most successful companies in the world and will receive top notch training on industry-leading fire alarm systems and fire suppression equipment. Our apprentice technicians participate in a formalized training program that includes both hands-on training and in the field experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Basic mechanical and electrical ability.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Demonstrated customer service mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or certification in low-voltage electricity or related field, preferred.
  • Military fire protection experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspection and testing tasks according to OPS work instructions.
  • Test and clean smoke detectors
  • Test manual pull stations and other initiating devices
  • Test other system inputs and outputs
  • Test and verify audio visual components
  • Inspect and measure weight of agent storage containers
  • Record inspection and test results in the company’s electronic inspection program.
  • Assist in installation and commissioning tasks with supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.
