About The Position

The Baillie Group's Rip Line is hiring Finished Goods Handlers to support day-to-day operations at its hardwood lumber manufacturing facility in Upstate New York. The role involves sorting and placing finished products into carts according to piece width and length, building square bundles that meet specified quality and arrangement criteria, and moving completed bundles for forklift removal. This is a full-time, direct-hire position with anticipated pay of $17–$20 per hour and overtime hours and pay. Employment is contingent on successfully passing a physical examination, including drug screening. Baillie Lumber Co. is a hardwood lumber manufacturer, distributor, and exporter that provides hardwood logs, lumber, and proprietary grade hardwood products.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be detail-oriented.
Be self-motivated, organized, and able to multitask.
Have a great attitude.
Be able to stand for long periods and bend and stoop.
Successfully pass a physical examination, including drug screening, as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

Previous warehouse worker experience is preferred.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; ability to read a measuring tape, calipers, and digital indicators.
A high school degree is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Identify the sort for the carts assigned to you.
Place finished products into the correct carts according to the width and length of the pieces.
Arrange pieces so that the top, bottom, and outside pieces are the longest.
Ensure all edges are free of knots, wane, and other defects.
Build square bundles with edge boards against the pipes of the cart.
Build each bundle until full and finish it with a neat top layer.
Push finished bundles out for forklift removal.
