About The Position

The Financial Solutions Advisor Stage I (FSA I) role begins with dedicated training to obtain securities industry licenses, followed by instruction in foundational advising skills. These include acquiring, building, and managing client relationships; understanding clients’ financial circumstances; and guiding them with advice and solutions. After reaching key milestones, the advisor works in a financial center to deliver Bank of America’s core banking and investment solutions and client-care approach. The position includes structured lessons and dedicated study time for the SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 exams (Series 63 and 65 are accepted in place of Series 66). The SIE must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and the Series 7 and Series 66 within 120 days. After demonstrating success as a licensed FSA I, the advisor will typically progress to Financial Solutions Advisor Stage II, developing and deepening relationships within a client portfolio. Further career opportunities are available across Bank of America and Merrill, with support from the Academy’s programs, tools, and resources. The role is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements. Employees engaged in residential loan mortgage originations must register with the federal registry system and remain in good standing. This position requires SAFE Act registration, a background check, and completion of the registration process; failure to obtain or maintain registration may result in termination. The position is open across the market, with the specific financial center determined by business needs. The employee will train at one financial center and may initially work in a phone-based capacity until a financial center location within a reasonable commuting distance of home is determined, to the extent permitted by applicable law. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays required, on the first shift, for 40 hours per week. The role is based in Bethesda, Maryland, and the specific work arrangement includes financial-center work and potentially phone-based work during the location transition. Pay is $28.85–$33.65 per hour, with offers determined by experience, education, and skill set. Compensation is a base salary and is not incentive eligible. The role is benefits eligible and includes access to paid time off and employee resources and support.
