About The Position

The Financial Solutions Advisor Stage I (FSA I) role begins with dedicated training and study time to obtain the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 66 licenses; Series 63 and 65 are accepted in lieu of Series 66. The SIE must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and the Series 7 and Series 66 within 120 days. After licensing, the advisor learns foundational skills for acquiring, building, and managing client relationships, assessing clients’ financial circumstances, and providing advice and solutions. After reaching key milestones, the advisor begins working in a financial center to deliver core banking services, investment solutions, and client care. Successful Stage I advisors typically progress to Financial Solutions Advisor Stage II, with opportunities to advance into other roles at Bank of America and Merrill. The Academy provides programs, tools, resources, training, and coaching throughout the career journey. The position is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements. The employee must register with the federal registry system, complete the required background check and registration process, and remain in good standing. Failure to obtain or maintain registration may result in immediate termination. The role uses a defined consultative approach to identify client needs and appropriate solutions. Responsibilities include providing comprehensive advice, conducting client reviews and presentations, recommending strategies for clients’ financial goals and life priorities, and collaborating with banking and investment partners to connect clients with Bank of America and Merrill solutions. The position is open across the market; the specific financial center location will depend on business needs. The employee will train at one financial center and may initially work in a phone-based capacity until another location within a reasonable commuting distance is determined, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
