About The Position

At Bank of America, the Financial Solutions Advisor Stage I (FSA I) begins by obtaining securities industry licenses through dedicated classes and study support for the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 66 exams; Series 63 and 65 are accepted in lieu of Series 66. The role then develops foundational advisory skills, including acquiring, building, and managing client relationships, understanding clients’ complex financial situations, and offering advice and solutions. After key development milestones, the advisor works in a financial center to deliver core banking, investment solutions, and client care. Successful Stage I advisors typically progress to Financial Solutions Advisor Stage II, where they grow and deepen relationships within a client portfolio, with opportunities to advance into other roles at Bank of America and Merrill. The role includes structured training, onboarding, dedicated study time, one-on-one coaching, and ongoing support from Academy programs, tools, and resources. Advisors use a defined consultative approach to identify client needs, provide comprehensive advice, conduct client reviews and presentations, and recommend strategies aligned with clients’ financial goals and life priorities. They collaborate with banking and investment partners and connect clients with Bank of America and Merrill solutions. This position is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements. The employee must register with the federal registry system, complete the required background check and registration process, and remain in good standing. Failure to obtain or maintain registration may result in immediate termination. The SIE must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and the Series 7 and Series 66 (or accepted alternatives) within 120 days. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays required; it is a first-shift role at 40 hours per week. Bank of America describes an in-office culture with role-specific flexibility.
