Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related degree
  • 5 years accounting experience
  • Be able to complete accurate and timely work while meeting deadlines
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and with others
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to analyze data and reach your own conclusions
  • Independent thinker with the ability to solve problems

  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience accounting for external debt (bonds/notes/credit facilities), including interest accruals and amortization (effective interest method)
  • Familiarity with debt accounting topics such as discounts/premiums, issuance costs, debt modifications/extinguishments, and covenant compliance
  • Experience with month-end close processes for debt-related accounts (interest payable, deferred financing costs, discounts/premiums) and related reconciliations a plus
  • Experience supporting audit requests and internal controls related to debt accounting, including documentation and review evidence

  • Upstream Oil and Gas experience / background a plus
  • SAP experience a plus
  • A.l. experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Calculating and recording monthly journal entries
  • Preparing monthly close schedules
  • Ensuring monthly close deadlines are met
  • Reviewing financial statements and performing account reconciliations
  • Analyzing financial statement activity
  • Working closely with other departments in recording and analyzing financial data
  • Assisting with internal and external audit requests, as well as other special projects
