Finance Manager, E-Commerce

Babylist
$128,413 - $171,229Remote

About The Position

We are looking for an E-commerce Finance Manager to join our team. As Finance Manager for our E-commerce business, you'll own financial visibility, efficiency, and performance across the Babylist Shop — topline through gross margin. You'll partner with Merchandising, Planning, Supply Chain, Accounting, and Data, and work directly with the Director of Strategic Finance to turn analysis into decisions on pricing, promotions, and investment. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role on a lean team: you'll set the approach, build the models and processes, and be front and center with company executives. If you've owned a full P&L picture and take pride in delivering clean, decision-ready work, you'll thrive here.

Requirements

  • Deep ecommerce finance fluency — you know the metrics and mechanics cold (AOV, gross-to-net, unit economics, and gross margin vs. contribution margin), ideally from a high-volume ecommerce or consumer-tech business
  • Advanced financial modeling skills — expert in Excel / Google Sheets, scenario analysis, and managing large datasets to a clean, reliable answer
  • Strong independent ownership and problem-solving — you can take an ambiguous problem, define the approach, and drive to a clear answer without day-to-day direction
  • Executive- and board-ready communication — you present financial insights clearly and directly to senior leaders, connecting the numbers to what's happening in the business, including strong data visualization
  • A high bar for accuracy and quality control — you build checks into your models and decks, reconcile outputs, and catch errors before they reach stakeholders
  • You naturally reach for AI in your work — at Babylist, every team uses AI daily. You're already using it to move faster and improve your output, and you stay curious about what's coming next.
  • Prior experience owning pricing and promotional decisions, with a focus on ROI and financial impact
  • You have hands-on experience using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) in finance workflows, with clear examples of automating reporting, accelerating analysis, or improving how you model
  • Experience with financial planning systems such as NetSuite Planning & Budgeting, Oracle Hyperion, or similar
  • 5–8 years of experience, ideally in an FP&A role at a high-growth consumer technology or ecommerce company, with 1–2 years at the Manager level preferred or equivalent ownership and scope in a lean, cross-functional finance environment
  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field

Nice To Haves

  • MBA a plus

Responsibilities

  • Proactively surface risks, opportunities, and value-added recommendations from both an operational and strategic viewpoint
  • Own the monthly financial business review for the Ecommerce business, delivering insights on sales, margins, and trends
  • Own Ecommerce forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis in partnership with Merchandising, Planning, and Accounting
  • Lead pricing and promotional analysis, including ROI evaluation and optimization
  • Analyze Co-Op, DDA, and rebate programs to assess financial impact and track accruals
  • Deliver SKU- and department-level reporting from revenue through margin
  • Ensure the data integrity of key ecommerce metrics in partnership with Data and Engineering
  • Build financial reporting that leadership relies on — dynamic dashboards, KPI and operational reporting, business analyses, and clear executive-level explanations of variances
  • Take ownership of establishing and managing new financial processes and reporting frameworks to close gaps and improve operational transparency
  • Leverage financial systems to give business leaders visibility to track against financial targets
  • Contribute to monthly and quarterly board presentations, the annual planning process, and long-range planning (5-Year Plan)
  • Identify and implement AI-enabled improvements across ecommerce FP&A workflows, reducing manual effort and increasing speed and consistency
